Windex Development AB designs, manufactures and distributes the WINDEX wind direction indicator in Sweden. WINDEX was developed in 1964 by RADAB (Research And Development AB); the founders included Sven-Olof Ridder, Harald Undén and Lars Bergström. Over the last 45 years more than 1,500,000 WINDEX wind indicators have been sold in more than 40 countries on five continents. All development, production and distribution are carried out in Sweden.

WINDEX 10 C Wind direction indicator

The original from Sweden: Wind direction indicator WINDEX 10 C is used for the precise display of the apparent wind direction on board and is designed for sailboats between 3–6 meters (10–20 feet) in length. The construction consists of a UV-resistant plastic needle with a smooth-running vane and two adjustable tacking tabs for optimal trim assistance. The high-quality sapphire bearing ensures low-friction movement even in light wind conditions. Thanks to the reflector tape on the underside of the vane and the tacking tabs, the WINDEX 10 is easy to read both during the day and at night. It is mounted using the included bracket, which allows the wind indicator to be attached on top of or to the side of the mast.WINDEX vanes are robust due to their high-quality construction and can be used for several years if installed correctly. WINDEX 15 / 15 MK2 Wind direction indicator

The WINDEX 15 / 15 MK2 is used to precisely display the apparent wind direction on board and is designed for sailboats from 5-12 meters (14-40 feet) in length. The construction consists of a needle made of UV-resistant plastic with a smooth-running wind vane and two adjustable tabs for optimum trimming assistance. The included BirdSpike extends the Windex by 190 mm above the vane and prevents birds from perching on it.The high-quality sapphire bearing ensures low-friction movement of the needle, even in light wind conditions. The WINDEX 12V Lighting Unit is compatible with the wind direction indicators WINDEX 10 and WINDEX 15. It enables safe readability of wind direction even at night or in poor visibility conditions.
