Stop plastic floating! Today, people are already using more resources in everyday life our planet can provide on a permanent basis. Nevertheless, every year about 10 million tons of plastic end up at sea and have disastrous consequences on the ecosystem. To protect the environment, there is urgent need to avoid waste, collect valuable materials and recycle them in a high-quality way. With Greenline rPET (rPet = recycled polyethylene terephthalate) Toplicht takes a step and provides the first rope made of 100% rPET fibres. The rope is available in black, or in …

Recycled rope GREENLINE rPET
GREENLINE CLASSIC rPET rope
From
€1.25 *
To be recognized by the delicate green identification thread: High-quality yacht rope with a classic look, made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles.GREENLINE is an abrasion- and winch-resistant, very durable and low-stretch all-round rope made of rPET polyester fibers (rPet = recycled polyethylene terephthalate), which is in no way less durable than a conventional polyester rope: Breaking load, UV resistance, durability and elongation are of the same quality as conventional polyester cordage.Manufacturing: Toplicht gets the cordage made from recycled PET bottles by a yarn manufacturer and a rope factory in the Netherlands. The yarn manufacturer is certified according to Global Recycled Standards (GRS) 4.0 and guarantees that its material is made from 100% recycled polyester. The PET plastic bottles used come exclusively from Europe to avoid unnecessarily long transport routes. The single-variety PET for one kilogram of high-quality recycled polyester fiber is obtained from around 40 beverage bottles. For this purpose, the collected bottles are shredded into granules and melted down. The fibers are twisted into yarns, which are finally woven into GREENLINE rPET cordage. The lean and smooth double braid is well suited for halyards, outhauls and sheetsColor: hemp-like beige with fine green marker thread. Please check FLOAT MAGAZIN and SAIL24.com
GREEN-DOCKLINE rPET mooring line
From
€3.25 *
Double braided polyester mooring rope made from 100% recycled PET plastic bottles (rPET). The rope does not kink and is comfortable to handle. It has high UV and abrasion resistance, good elongation behavior and is easy to splice. Even in constant use, this yacht fastener remains soft and supple.Due to the very pure collection of PET plastic bottles in Western Europe, the properties of polyester fibers obtained directly from petroleum and those from recycled polyester (rPET) are almost identical. So the beverage bottle gets a hopefully long and good second life as a mooring line and does not end up as plastic waste in the oceans.Color: black with thin green identification thread.
