OWATROL DEKS OLJE D1 is a low-viscosity, transparent oil that is ideal for saturating wood, especially hardwoods and tropical woods. Due to its enormous penetrating capacity, it penetrates deep into the wood and displaces any moisture and air present. On the one hand, complete saturation prevents solid wood from working so that it no longer swells. On the other hand, the oil provides preventative protection against fungal and mold infestation. In the case of porous wood, treatment with D1 facilitates subsequent painting, as saturated wood absorbs less varnish or paint.OWATROL D1 can be applied to new, untreated wood or to wood that has already been weathered (with appropriate preparation). As a sole preservative, a permanently elastic, breathable, silky matt surface is achieved (e.g. for non-slip decks). OWATROL DEKS OLJE D2 is recommended as a film-forming further treatment. OWATROL D1 can also be painted over with 1-component primers and alkyd paints.Application: The product is applied in several coats until the wood is saturated. Then wait 15-20 minutes to allow the oil to soak in. Do not allow the oil to dry between coats, but work wet on wet. After the last coat, the surface should be wiped with a clean cloth after the waiting time to avoid the formation of a film.Important: To saturate wood in underwater areas, ensure that the wood is coated with a waterproof blocking primer (silver primer, CR primer). A recoating interval of at least one week (at 20°C) should be maintained between OWATROL D1 and primer, and correspondingly longer at cooler temperatures. It is also important to ensure that after the last coat of OWATROL Technical DataSubstrate: All wood types, including dense and oily hardwoods (e.g. teak, mahogany),Application area: interior and exteriorSurface preparation:Remove old coatings completelySand wood dry with 120 grit and clean (e.g. with denatured alcohol)For decks: sand with 40 grit, brush in grain direction using brass brush for slip resistanceTopcoat: Above water: OWATROL DEKS OLJE D2, 1component-PUR varnishes, alkyd-based coatings (test first); Below water: chlorinated rubber primer + antifoulingCoverage: 1–4 m²/l (initial saturation), 8–12 m²/l (maintenance)Thinner: None Application method: Flat brush, mohair roller, spray deviceDrying times at 20 °C: Fully cured after 3 daysFurther information on applying this product can be found in the technical data sheet under "Downloads".
IMP IMPREGNATING OIL is a transparent wood priming oil made from a drying alkyd resin oil. It is used for the care and preservation of dimensionally stable wooden components above the waterline in indoor and outdoor areas. Thanks to its excellent penetration properties, it acts preventively against rot and fungal infestation when saturating the wood, as air and moisture are displaced. It dries quickly, is vapor-permeable and water-repellent. Suitable as a saturating primer for further coatings such as BENAR oils and other single-component paints. For sole treatment (matte surface) of spars and masts, the "wet-on-wet" application is recommended until the wood is fully saturated. Suitable for all types of wood.Application: The product is ready to use and should not be diluted. Stir well before use. Application can be done with a brush or roller. The oil is applied wet-on-wet until the wood pores are fully saturated. Material that has not penetrated must be removed immediately with a clean, lint-free cloth. Clean tools with white spirit.Technical DataField of application: Care and preservation agent for wood above the waterline (indoor and outdoor)Substrate: Clean, dry, free of grease and dust; for new tropical woodsCoverage: approx. 3–6 m²/l (theoretical, depending on absorbency)Thinning: No spray dilution intendedApplication method: Brush, rollerDrying times (at 20 °C): Dust-dry after 5 hrs, re-coatable after at least 24 hrs (max. 3 months), fully loadable after 2 days

OWATROL OIL, which is based on natural oils and has exceptionally good penetration properties, is the basic product for many applications. It is three times wetter than water, i.e. it even creeps upwards. On rusty metal, it creeps deep into the rust pores and displaces the air and moisture (i.e. the actual cause of corrosion) even from inaccessible areas. After drying (24 hours at 20°C), the leaf rust can be removed more easily and the soaked residual rust is consolidated, preserved, sealed and can be painted with all turpentine substitute thinnable paints.OWATROL-OIL is also ideal as an additive (color additive) for 1-component paints. Instead of using turpentine substitute as a thinner, it significantly improves the coating and flow properties and ensures optimized adhesion without compromising the quality of the paint. On the contrary, the addition of 10-15% OWATROL OIL makes paints and varnishes even more porous and durable on the surface.OWATROL spray is suitable for minor touch-ups.Technical dataSubstrates: Rusty and bare metals (iron, steel, aluminum), new and weathered woodPre-treatment: depending on the material: remove loose rust, non-adherent old paint, oil and grease

Protective and maintenance oil with high penetration capacity for all interior wood. OWATROL INTERIÖL is colourless and produces a silky matt surface that emphasizes the natural grain of the wood. A glossy finish can be achieved by applying a further coat 24 hours after the wood is saturated.Stabilizes raw, untreated wood from the inside out and reduces swelling and shrinkage due to saturation. Protects physically (moisture cannot penetrate) and thus prevents the infestation of mold and fungal infestation, completely without chemical fungal protection or pesticides. Application: Apply the oil wet-on-wet without intermediate drying (interval approx. 30 to 60 minutes) until the wood is saturated. Do not allow to dry between coats. According to the manufacturer, 4-6 coats are recommended when treating wooden floors. One hour after the last coat, the surface should be wiped with a clean, lint-free cloth to distribute and absorb excess material. Otherwise the surface may remain sticky. If this interval is exceeded, excess product can be removed mechanically by sanding or with a suitable paint remover (OWATROL DILUNETT, Art. No. 2511-001). Very absorbent woods should be treated again after 12 hours at the earliest. To achieve a perfect finish, the surface can be sanded with 120 grit sandpaper and INTERIÖL as a sanding liquid.Technical DataApplication area: Interior wood, e.g. furniture, floors, panels, kitchen countertopsSubstrate: bare, clean, dry, grease-free, soundApplication: soft flat brush, mohair roller, fine spray deviceCoverage: approx. 8-12 m²/l Thinner: noneApplication temperature: +8 °C to max. +35 °CDrying (20 °C): dust dry after 4–5 hrs, fully dry after 12–72 hrs.Further information on application can be found in the Technical Data Sheet under "Downloads".

“Pure Gold in a tin” - EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL contains a very high proportion of metallic, pure gold dust pigments. This gold paint was developed on an acrylic copolymer basis for decorative stripes, ship names, and lettering on classic yachts, where traditionally gold leaf was laboriously applied. In contrast, EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL is easier to apply than gold leaf and allows the included gold dust to shine in its typical gloss and color tone. Application: The surface must be dry, well degreased, and sanded. On GRP, steel, wood, and zinc, an adhesion-promoting primer with EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No 2066-175) is recommended, which should be sanded with P180–P220 after drying. Stir well before use and stir occasionally during application to prevent the gold pigments from settling. Do not apply wet-on-wet and do not apply excessively thick wet coats. Preferably apply with a soft, long-bristled brush in a single, even stroke. For an even gold effect, apply at least two coats.Outdoors, to stabilize against UV rays, after complete curing (48 hrs) it can be overcoated with EPIFANES POLY-URETHANE CLEAR VARNISH (Art.No 2063-900) or EPIFANES CLEAR BOAT VARNISH (Art.No 2050-001); when using Clear Boat Varnish, the color tone appears slightly darker.Safety note: Contains solvents; wearing personal protective equipment (safety goggles, mask, gloves) is recommended.Technical DataArea of application: Gold paint for decorative coating of lettering, trim, ornamentsSurface: Dry, degreased, sanded; on GRP, steel, wood with primerPrimer: depending on surface, e.g., EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER, WASHPRIMER AQCoverage: approx. 2.0–2.5 m²/250 ml at approx. 45–55 µm dry film thicknessThinner: EPIFANES PAINT THINNER (Art.No. 2059-001)Application method: BrushDrying times (at 20 °C): Dust dry: 2 hrs, sandable: 24 hrs, recoat with itself: 9–12 hrs; recoat with clear varnish: approx. 48 hrs.

Premium primer that combines the properties of a rust protection primer and an air-drying natural oil with high solids content and exceptional penetrating properties. Thanks to the formulation with OWATROL oil, OWATROL CIP has a low surface tension and is three times "wetter" than water. This allows it to optimally wet surfaces and penetrate even hard-to-reach corners that may not be mechanically derusted. It penetrates thick rust layers down to the "sound" metal and displaces moisture and air.The oil dries completely, even in thick layers given sufficient drying time. After drying, it remains elastic but is hard enough due to the added primer to be coated with a subsequent one- or two-component system such as an epoxy or chlorinated rubber primer. Suitable for all areas exposed to extreme climatic conditions, such as ballast tanks. Active ingredients: water-displacing penetrating oil and iron oxide.Technical DataSubstrate: Iron, steel, cast iron, stainless steel, light metals (bare or rusted)Surface preparation:Remove loose paint and rustFirm rust may remainSurface must be dry, grease-free and cleanFor chemically exposed surfaces: thorough cleaning with water or steamTopcoat: All one- or two-component systems including epoxy, polyurethane, chlorinated rubber etc.Coverage: up to 15 m²/l (depending on substrate and rust depth)Thinner: noneApplication method: Brush, lambskin roller, spray gun (professional use)Drying times at 20 °C: Touch dry after approx. 6 hrs; recoatable after 48 hrs.Further information on applying this product can be found in the technical data sheet under “Downloads”.Safety note: Cloths soaked with drying oils can self-ignite, therefore always spread out to dry before disposal or collect in sealed metal containers.
Classic metal preservation from the commercial shipping industry. HANSALUX U SCHIFFSBODENÖL is an aromatic-free, high-solids coating based on linseed oil and a special alkyd resin.

HENSOTHERM is already approved as a fire protection system on numerous traditional ships.HENSOTHERM 1KS is colorless and is only suitable for basically dry interior areas. For a colorless, transparent coating in these areas, the wood is first primed with wood primer AQ to minimize absorbency. Then the insulating HENSOTHERM 1KS is applied and finally sealed with the topcoat HENSOTOP 84AF to achieve a certain abrasion resistance. In areas on board where high humidity or condensation can occur, the waterproof, gray, exterior paint HENSOTHERM 2KS must be used and afterwards sealed with the waterproof, white topcoat HENSOTOP SB. HENSOTOP SB is available in a wide range of colors on request and at extra cost. Unfortunately, transparent fire protection in areas subject to moisture is not possible.
