SLAG IN DE RONDTE Board Game
€39.50 *
An exciting board game for sailors and landlubbers of all ages, where the channels and sands of the Wadden Sea become the stage for a thrilling race of colourful flat-bottomed boats.Use the tides and the wind to your advantage, place a flag on every island, and be the first to sail back to Harlingen – unless your opponent blocks your way with a seal.SLAG IN DE RONDTE is a board game that allows players to experience sailing on the Wadden Sea in a simple and playful way. It is based on the regatta of the same name, held annually in November as the season finale for the Dutch flat-bottom charter ships of the “Brown Fleet”.For two to five skippers aged 7 and up. Easy to learn, playing time approx. 30-45 minutes. Game rules in German and Dutch.GameplayAfter each player has chosen a ship, the fleet departs from Harlingen, which serves as both the starting and finishing port. The game board shows a map of the West Frisian Islands with their channels and sandbanks. Each skipper charts their own route, making clever use of wind and tides. A wind arrow indicates the current wind direction, while an hourglass shows whether it is ebb or flood. When sailing with the wind and current, a player may roll more dice and move faster than when sailing against them. The ships navigate channels and sandbanks. If a ship ends its move on a tidal flat or in a drying harbour at low tide, it becomes stranded and the player must skip a turn. A seal also swims around the board – if a player places it in front of an opponent’s ship, that ship must take a long detour. Whoever has placed flags on all the islands and in Noorpolderzijl and returns to Harlingen first wins the game.Game components:1 game board with waterways, islands, harbours and sandbanks5 ships in different colours30 flags in different colours1 seal figure1 wind arrow3 dice1 hourglass1 small linen bag for the playing pieces1 rulebook in Dutch and German
