The cleanly milled grooves thereby allow the wires a large bending radius, through which they are able to retain their strength.Made from the saltwater-resistant plastic Polyacetal (POM).

HI-MOD insulator

Insulator for installation in stays and antenna wires. The Hi-MOD insulator has an internal ball-socket in the main body that threads onto the connecting stud. The nut is insulated from the stainless steel body by a Tufnol socket, preventing electrical transference to the insulator body. The Hi-MOD insulator meets or exceeds current electrical standards for marine backstay insulators. PETERSEN STAINLESS RIGGING LTD, a manufacturer of high quality stainless steel rigging components, has developed the well known NORSEMAN terminals under the new brandname HI-MODE.These high precision terminals, manufactured in England from stainless steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L), are stronger dimensioned than the breaking load of the strongest wire fitting for them. The newly developed cone with crown ring enables the very simple and safe fitting to the wire with on-board means, that is without milling and pressing. There is no need anymore for sealants when fitting the wire and cones are reusable if undamaged. It is necessary to order special cones for wire constructions 7 x 19 und 7 x 7. Additional designs of swageless compression terminals for wires up to 26 mm are available (prizes on request). A detailed application instruction comes with the shipment.
