Rope is part of the everyday deck equipment on commercial vessels. Mooring lines, towing and anchor warps and general-purpose working lines are exposed to different loads depending on the task. Diameter and breaking load are important selection criteria, together with stretch, buoyancy, abrasion behaviour, water absorption and suitability for splicing. TOPLICHT supplies rope by the metre and in full coils for commercial and work boats as well as fishing vessels.
The range includes three-strand mooring rope made from polypropylene, multifilament polypropylene, polyester and polyamide, together with square-braided POLYSTEEL rope. Floating PP and POLYSTEEL lines can simplify certain mooring and towing operations. Polyamide provides considerable stretch and is used, among other applications, for mooring in harbours exposed to swell and for anchor and towing warps. High-strength HMPE rope combines high breaking loads with low weight and can also be used in applications where wire rope is replaced by fibre rope.
TOPLICHT also carries equipment for handling, stowing and protecting ropes on deck. The range includes ready-made mooring lines with a spliced eye and chafe protection, heaving-line weights, rope baskets with covers, rat guards and polyurethane treatment for HMPE rope. A MED/SOLAS-approved fire-resistant rescue line is also available for safety applications.
