The IKAROS line throwing device is used to make line connections in maritime emergencies and accidents as well as in overhead line and bridge construction. It is used between ships, from shore to ship or from ship to shore as well as for rescuing people.

The robust device consists of a compact, waterproof plastic container with integrated handle and release mechanism, a rocket and 300 meters of high-strength line (4 mm polypropylene, tensile strength 2 kN).

The pistol grip allows safe one-handed operation of the single-shot device (see explanatory video). In calm weather, the line can be shot up to 300 m away. The line floating head made of orange plastic ensures that the line is easy to find in the water.

The rocket can be replaced (see explanatory video).

The line launcher complies with the latest SOLAS 74/96 regulations and is approved worldwide (MED, MER, TC, USCG) (see "Downloads").

It can only be shipped as dangerous goods (at higher shipping costs).

The FP throw line is a very practical accessory for attaching a safety line directly to the lifebuoy (with an internal diameter of 38 cm or 45 cm).The bottle-shaped, buoyant container is made of white plastic. It is clamped into the lifebuoy, which requires a certain amount of force. The buoyant braided line (diameter = 5 mm) made of orange PP, breaking load approx. 250 kg, is stowed in the container.
