Transparent, glossy 1-component coating based on polyurethane resin for wood, plastic, and metal surfaces. COELAN Boat Coating Glossy is suitable for boat decks and all areas above the waterline.
The product is UV-resistant, highly elastic, and remains breathable: water vapor can still diffuse from the coated material. Due to its extremely good weather resistance, long renovation intervals result. As a final coat (last layer), COELAN Boat Coating SILK MATT (matching articles) can also be applied. The boat coating can also be colored with COELAN color pastes (e.g., white, Art. No. 2622-1013).
Application: The processing temperature should be between +5 °C and +30 °C. During processing and curing, ensure even ventilation, and personal protective equipment (gloves, respiratory mask) should be worn for safety. Depending on the substrate, pre-treatment with a suitable COELAN boat primer is required.
Application is done in several even, generous layers with a brush or foam roller. For vertical surfaces, dilution with 10–30 % COELAN thinner is recommended. Depending on the area of use (walkable decks, masts, superstructures), 6-8 layers are required.
Contains isocyanates. May cause allergic reactions. From August 24, 2023, appropriate training must be completed before industrial or commercial use (REACH Regulation Annex XVII)
Technical Data
- Area of application: Transparent high-gloss coating for wood, plastic, and metal surfaces above the waterline
- Substrate: Requires COELAN boat primer depending on material
