Products from Barigo

The BARIGO barometer factory has its origins in the precision engineering industrial tradition of the Black Forest. For more than 80 years, high-quality measuring instruments and clocks were developed and manufactured in Villingen-Schwenningen. The product design is based on the clear design language of the Bauhaus.
In 2024, another traditional company, Feingerätebau K. Fischer, took over the production of BARIGO instruments. Kurt Fischer founded his precision engineering workshop in Drebach in the Ore Mountains in 1945. The first barometers were produced as early as 1946, followed by further meteorological instruments of solid construction and workmanship. In 1963, Bernd Fischer's intensive research work in the field of hygrometry established the excellent reputation of FISCHER hygrometers, which continues to this day. The 6-part aneroid barometer movement was patented in 1965. In 1972, the company was expropriated by the GDR government and forcibly nationalised as VEB Feingerätebau Drebach. In 1990, the company was reprivatised and returned to family ownership.
The manufactory in the Ore Mountains now produces the high-quality measuring instruments and clocks of both traditional brands BARIGO and FISCHER, which have outstanding technology and precise function in common. As is customary in the shipping industry, the dials are labelled in English. The clocks are supplied without batteries.
