Salamander Stoves is a family-run company based in Devon, England, specializing in the design and manufacture of high-quality, compact cast iron stoves. Founded in 2009 by Mark and Gill Crosby, the idea originated from the need for efficient heating solutions for small spaces without compromising on design and functionality. Each stove is hand-finished and inspected at the Devon workshop, complying with the latest EcoDesign 2022 regulations. The company is also committed to sustainability, planting three trees for every stove sold and using 20% recycled cast iron in their products.

The Hobbit Stove: A compact multi-fuel cast iron stove with a nominal output of 4.1 kW, suitable for burning wood, coal, or eco logs. Measuring 302 mm wide, 272 mm deep, and 465 mm high, it is ideal for small spaces like boats, cabins, or tiny homes. The stove features an improved airwash system, a large viewing window, and meets EcoDesign 2022 standards.
The Little Range Cookstove: An enhanced version of the Hobbit Stove with added cooking capabilities. With a nominal output of 4.3 kW, it offers a 221-square-inch stainless steel cooktop and an oven with 880 cubic inches of volume. An optional side boiler can be integrated for hot water production. This model also complies with EcoDesign 2022 regulations.
Direct Air Intake System: An optional addition for the Hobbit Stove that allows direct fresh air intake from outside, improving combustion efficiency. This is particularly suitable for airtight spaces like passive houses, boats, or tiny homes. The system is pre-installed at the Devon workshop and includes an installation kit.

Solid fuel stove SALAMANDER SE

The small SALAMANDER SE cast iron stove has been specially developed for small rooms. It can be used to burn logs, coal or eco-briquettes. Its heat output is 4 kW.The SALAMANDER SE solid fuel stove is available in two versions: a standard version and a version with a separate fresh air supply.The models with fresh air supply have an integrated air box at the rear of the stove, to which a flexible stainless steel air supply hose (diameter: 80 mm) is connected. This hose has a variable length of 300 mm to 1250 mm (extended).In addition to the supply air hose, the scope of delivery also includes all the necessary installation materials such as hose clips and an external cover.The efficiency of the stoves is a very good 81.4 percent. The low particulate and gas emissions comply with the European ECO DESIGN regulations and even fall below the new, stricter limit values of the HETAS Cleaner Choice Scheme. This means that the SALAMANDER SE can be operated in the so-called "smoke-free zones" in the UK. The HETAS Cleaner Choice Scheme is designed to help improve air quality in the UK through strict limits on smoke emissions and particulate matter.The user-friendly air regulator on the front of the stove allows the secondary and tertiary air supply to be precisely adjusted. The firing rate and flame pattern can therefore be controlled very precisely. The preheated tertiary air inlet also ensures efficient, clean combustion. The secondary combustion technology keeps the large viewing window clean.Installation is possible not only on board ships, but also in construction trailers or mobile tiny houses.The exhaust pipe connection has an internal diameter of 4" (100 mm) and a slightly conical external diameter of 115 mm. This means that pipes with an outer diameter of 100 mm can be inserted into the flange or pipes with an inner diameter of 115 mm can be attached.We offer an adapter for our REFLEKS stainless steel pipes of size 114 mm so that the entire REFLEKS exhaust pipe system can be used.Accessories:4356-100: Stove substructure to raise the stove by 158 mm, which also creates space for firewood.4356-101: Flue flange 90° allows the flue system to be installed at the back of the stove instead of the top.4356-103: Vermiculite plates can be replaced with the side cast-iron heat storage plates in the SALAMANDER SE.The SALAMANDER SE is supplied with cast iron heat storage plates as standard. Compared to cast iron plates, the firebox with vermiculite plates heats up much faster due to its insulating properties, which increases the efficiency of the stove.4356-108: Removable hotplate, increases the thermal mass of the SALAMANDER stove by 7 kg . The plate considerably increases the cooking surface.It can only be used if the flue gas pipe system is fitted to the rear of the stove.4356-109 4356-110: Heat protection, sturdy steel construction to shield the hot stove from surrounding walls and furniture. Brass Fittings for SALAMANDER SE

The SALAMANDER SE is supplied with chrome-plated fittings as standard. However, a conversion kit with solid brass fittings is also available on request.The conversion kit includes the door pins, the fixing screw for the air flow wheel, the vibrating arm and the door handles of the SALAMANDER SE oven.The brass air flow wheel is available separately.Please note that we do not offer brass versions of the secondary and tertiary air regulators, which are located under the base plate of the stove.

The LITTLE RANGE is a further development of the tried and tested SALAMANDER solid fuel stove.This small cooker is the ideal choice for rooms where space is limited, but where it is still important to have a heating option that can also be used for cooking or baking.Installation is not only possible on board ships, but also in caravans or mobile tiny houses.As in the SALAMANDER, logs, coal or eco-briquettes can also be burnt in the LITTLE RANGE.
