Products from Raymarine
The Raymarine brand was created in 2001 through a management buyout of the marine division of the British company Raytheon. Since the 1950s, the British company had built up its own marine division, which served both the commercial and recreational markets and made great strides in the development of radar, Loran C navigation, GPS, chartplotters, fishfinders, and commercial echo sounders.
Today, Raymarine is one of the leading manufacturers of marine electronics, from chartplotters, instruments, and transducers for wind, log, and depth sounders to autopilots, radar, and fishfinders. And not only in the yachting sector, but also for commercial shipping; for example, Raymarine equips the ships of the US Coast Guard.
In 2010, Raymarine became part of the FLIR family of brands. As part of FLIR, Raymarine introduced solid-state and CHIRP pulse compression radar technology and revolutionized the autopilot market with the Evolution adaptive autopilot system. FLIR thermal imaging cameras have also been integrated into the Raymarine product range. The integration of radar and thermal imaging technologies has led to major advances in safety when navigating in poor visibility conditions. Recently, such camera systems have also been increasingly integrated into technology for the yachting sector.
