This genuine Raymarine adapter cable connects a Raymarine SeaTalkng network and a standard NMEA 2000 network (DeviceNet Micro-C) into a single, continuous backbone.
Since genuine Raymarine backbone cables are always identified by the blue color-coding on the connectors, this cable seamlessly transmits both data signals and network power in both directions.
Important Installation and Power Note:
Proper termination (terminating resistors): If you are using a SeaTalkng Starter Kit with a 5-way splitter, first remove one of the two blue terminators. Instead, plug the blue end of the adapter cable into this empty blue port. Connect the other end to the front end of your NMEA 2000 T-connectors. Attach a standard NMEA 2000 terminator to the very last open end of the NMEA 2000 chain. A network must always have exactly two terminators in total!
Simple Power Supply: The cable carries the 12V line within the backbone. The combined network is therefore powered exclusively by a single source (e.g., via the red SeaTalkng power cable on the 5-way splitter).
High-Power Devices / Device-Specific Power: High-power devices (such as the Raymarine Axiom chartplotter series) transmit only signals over this data network. They consume too much power for the bus system and must be powered via their own separate power cable.
Do not connect an additional NMEA 2000 power cable to the T-connectors if the network is already powered via SeaTalkng. A dual power supply in the same backbone can lead to dangerous equalizing currents, system crashes, or permanent damage to the device circuit boards.
