RAYMARINE Axiom+ 7 Touch
The 7-inch plotter from Raymarine's AXIOM+ series is a powerful, tried-and-tested GPS chart plotter that is easily operated via a touch display. The latter is very easy to read even in sunlight and around 25 percent brighter than the previous model series. It is ideal for navigation on sailing or motorboats and can display many other boat data. Whether wind information, echo sounder, AIS, radar, engine data or tank levels, they can either be integrated into the plotter image or displayed on split screens or separate dashboard pages. Particularly important data such as course, speed, depth or nearby vessels are always clearly displayed and the crew can easily keep track of everything. Fish finders from the RV 300 series can also be integrated.
The AXIOM+ 7 is either flush-mounted in a device carrier on the helm or recessed in the bulkhead, or mounted externally on the bracket supplied. It has an integrated GPS module for location and course data, but can also be optionally connected to an external GPS antenna. The display is water-repellent thanks to the HydroTech nano-coating and can therefore be operated even when wet. Alternatively, the additionally available RMK-10 external control panel with rotary control and buttons can also be fitted. With this combination, the plotter is still cheaper than the AXIOM PRO series, which has an integrated control panel. The AXIOM+ series offers plotters in 7, 9 and 12 inch sizes.
The AXIOM+ runs the Lighthouse 4 operating system and can display either the Lighthouse chart sets developed by Raymarine or Navionics charts. The software scope also includes autorouting, which easily creates route suggestions for a selected destination. The laylines function is also very interesting for sailors, allowing them to determine the right time for tacking or jibing at the cross towards the destination. The polar data of your own ship can be stored in the plotter for this purpose, and many yacht models are already pre-installed. This means that maneuvers can be ideally planned and adapted to wind shifts.
The AXIOM+7 is available as a bundle with the pre-installed Lighthouse chart sets for Northern Europe, Western Europe or the Mediterranean for a small surcharge. The sets are then significantly cheaper than buying them separately. The map set sections are shown in the pictures.
