PyroPol GmbH, based in Hornbek near Hamburg, is a family-owned company specializing in the development, production, and distribution of pyrotechnic distress signals and special effects. The company's origins date back to 1910 when Carl Flemming founded the Carl Flemming Kunstfeuerwerkerei in Hamburg-Neugraben. Today, the company is managed by Olaf Flemming in the third generation and employs around 16 staff members. PyroPol's products are entirely manufactured in Germany and undergo continuous quality assurance in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. The company supplies customers in commercial shipping, offshore sectors, water sports, as well as police and military.
The product range includes:
- Parachute rockets CF3 (red/white) with an altitude of up to 350 m and a luminous intensity of 30,000 cd, approved according to SOLAS/MED/USCG
- Hand flares CF3 (red/white) with a burn time of 60 seconds and a luminous intensity of 3,000 cd
- Smoke signals CF3 (orange) with a smoke duration of at least 3 minutes, buoyant and suitable for use on fuel- or oil-covered water
- ManOverBoard CF4: Combined light-smoke signal with a 360° LED light ring, automatic activation, and a light duration of at least 2 hours
- MARINER LED lifebuoy light: Self-activating night light for lifebuoys with a light duration of 2 hours, approved according to SOLAS/MED
- Emergency kits for coastal and offshore areas, consisting of various combinations of parachute rockets, hand flares, and smoke signals
All products are CE-certified and approved by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). They comply with international standards according to SOLAS 74 and IMO Resolution MSC.81(70).
