Founded in 1978, philippi elektrische systeme GmbH is a family-owned company based in Remseck am Neckar, Germany. For over 40 years, the company has been developing and manufacturing electrical systems for yachts, sports boats, expedition vehicles, motorhomes, and special vehicles. The products are produced and tested in-house. Philippi is a member of the German Boat and Shipbuilders Association (DBSV) and the Federal Association of the Water Sports Industry (BVWW), adhering to the standards and guidelines of VDE, EN ISO, and Germanischer Lloyd.

The product range includes components for on-board power supply, distribution, and monitoring. With the electronic position light monitoring - an exclusive TOPLICHT design for traditional ships - the failure of a bulb or LED in a navigation light or a wiring break is shown. Up to 5 lights can be monitored (starboard / port, steaming, stern, anchor light). The failure of a light is sent over the electronics, and the matching LED on the display goes off. Additionally, an alarm LED is lit and an acoustic signal rung, which may be acknowledged by pushing a key. Intended for 12 V or 24 V systems, maximum power per signal 3 A.
