WALDEN-Seenotausrüstung was founded in 1983 by Klaus-Dieter Walden in Lübeck, Germany. The company initially developed liferafts and lifejackets and at the same time conducted training in the use of this equipment. From these activities arose the need for a dedicated device to recover helpless persons from the water safely and quickly. This led to the development of the WALDEN rescue net, which has since proven effective in many trials and is now used by rescue organizations, fire brigades, authorities, and on work and rescue boats. In addition to standard nets, customized versions for higher freeboards and alternative mounting options are available. Inland and seagoing vessels required under international SOLAS regulations to carry recovery devices are also equipped with WALDEN rescue nets.
