The Deutsche Signal-Instrumenten-Fabrik Max B. Martin GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1880 in Markneukirchen, Saxony. Initially, the company produced signal horns, hunting horns, cavalry trumpets, and fanfare trumpets for two- or four-tone signals. In the early years of the automotive industry, the production focus shifted to car horns and fire brigade horns. In 1932, the company developed a horn in collaboration with fire and police departments, which became a legally required special signal for privileged road users. Since then, the trademark "MARTIN-HORN®" has been protected. Today, the company is based in Philippsburg, Baden-Württemberg, employing around 45 staff members.
