Feuerhand was founded in 1893 by Hermann and Ernst Nier in Beierfeld, Saxony. The company specialized in the production of kerosene lamps and became a major manufacturer of hurricane lanterns. In the 1930s, Feuerhand produced up to 12 million lanterns per year, covering a significant portion of global demand. After several changes in ownership, the brand rights have been part of the Petromax Group since 2014. Production now takes place at the company's headquarters in Magdeburg.

The Feuerhand product range includes various lighting and fire solutions for outdoor use. These include the classic Baby Special 276 hurricane lantern, available in a wide range of colors, as well as modern LED versions. The products are characterized by robust construction, durable materials, and functional design.

The classic, well proven storm lantern, made in Germany! For over 125 years, the Baby Special 276 has been bringing reliable light into people's lives. In doing so, the powerless light source takes a sustainable approach and consumes its fuel sparingly and efficiently.The FEUERHAND BABY 276 276 is made of galvanised steel and is thus particularly resistant to corrosion.A large selection of coloured powder-coated models is available. Combined, the colourful hurricane lanterns create a cosy atmosphere in the garden or on the terrace. The heat-resistant Schott Suprax glass of the Feuerhand hurricane lantern protects the flame from wind and bad weather. The FEUERHAND is thus well equipped for outdoor use and provides pleasant light for up to 20 hours.The FIREHAND is operated with petroleum. For indoor or below deck use, we recommend the highly purified petroleum BLUE (article no. 4148-001). The FEUERHAND lantern is also available as an LED lamp – Made in Germany. The modern alternative to the kerosene lamp impresses with a high brightness, stepless dimmability and a long burning time of up to 18 days.The FEUERHAND BABY 276 LED is made of galvanized steel and is thus particularly resistant to corrosion. The colored models are additionally powder coated.The warm white LED (2700 Kelvin) provides coziness. The FEUERHAND can be smoothly dimmed via the turnable tank cover and generates a luminous flux of 2 to 150 lumens.A frosted glass (article 3032-101) is available as an accessory.The lamp can be operated alternatively with3 standard AA batteries with 1.5 volts or2 lithium-ion batteries 18650 with 3.6/3.7 volts. The lithium-ion batteries can be charged via a USB-C port on the side of the tank.The burning time depends on the brightness setting and the power source:approx. 14.5 h to 432 h (approx. 18 days) with 2 lithium-ion batteries,approx. 1.5 h to 156 h (approx. 6.5 days) with 3 AA batteries.Batteries, rechargeable batteries or a USB-C cable are not included. The lamp has IP20 protection and should not be used or stored in a wet environment.

The custom-fit transport bag for the FEUERHAND BABY SPEZIAL 276 storm lantern is made of robust, water-repellent ripstop material with sewn-in reinforcements, has a carrying handle and can be opened and closed quickly with a zip all the way round. This means that the lamp has its very own place on board, can be stowed safely and prevents other items of equipment from getting caught or tangled on the housing.
