EPIFANES CR Antifouling Primer is an aluminum-pigmented, universal underwater ship primer based on chlorinated rubber. Suitable for use on steel, aluminum, wood and polyester. It dries quickly and can be applied to many pre-treated substrates and old coatings. The chlorinated rubber contained in the primer makes it permanently elastic, allowing it to bridge the natural movement of wood, for example.
A single-component, fast-drying underwater primer based on vinyl with excellent water resistance and elasticity. The included aluminum flakes provide particularly good protection against corrosion and abrasion. The primer serves as a sealer on old antifouling or as a tie coat between epoxy primers kike HEMPEL LIGHT PRIMER (Art.No. 2577-055) and antifouling. A solvent-based, single-component polyurethane resin that is excellent as a bonding primer for laminates with epoxy or polyester coatings. VOSSCHEMIE PAINT SYSTEM G4 Extra cures by releasing solvents and cross-links by absorbing moisture from the air and the substrate. This creates a wear-resistant film with high impact strength. As a binder for wood flour, G4 Extra can also be used to make wood filler for filling chips and wind cracks. It is also suitable for durable sealing of dark woods (e.g. mahogany). The coating has a yellowish-transparent tint that is intensified under UV exposure. Improved UV protection is provided by VOSSCHEMIE polyurethane varnish G8 SUPER. Not suitable for use in interior areas (e.g. cabin).Technical DataSubstrates: Wood, concrete, steel, GRPSubsequent coating: 1K or 2K PUR coatings, GRP laminatesCoverage: approx. 0.1 l/m² (non-absorbent substrates), 0.2–0.25 l/m² (absorbent substrates)Thinning: noneApplication method: Brush, lambskin roller, spray gun (professional users, only with respiratory protection!)Drying times at 20 °C: recoatable with itself: 2–4 hrs (as soon as substrate is tack-free), max. 12 hrs. Zinc dust-containing (67%), surface-tolerant 2-component epoxy primer with high penetration properties, even on steel surfaces that have only been derusted by hand or water-blasted. The pigment-rich formulation results in a very well adhering and robust cathodic corrosion protection layer for use above and below water.HANSAZINC ST tolerates residual moisture (no wetness) and slight flash rust formation. Can be painted over with two-component paints as well as with bitumen, vinyl and chlorinated rubber primers, but not with alkyd resin-based paints and paints containing zinc phosphate. Not suitable for use on galvanized, stainless, light or non-ferrous metals, wood, mineral substrates or plastics.Application: The mixing ratio is 93:7 (base:hardener) by volume. The pot life is 3-4 hours. Depending on the substrate, the product can be applied by spraying, brushing or rolling. On hand-rusted surfaces, the coating must be worked in intensively; a bristle brush is best suited for this. Ideal processing and surface temperatures are between 15 °C and 25 °C and at least 5 °C above the dew point.
A low-solvent, two-component thick film primer based on epoxy resin with zinc phosphate.Ideal as corrosion protection on steel and aluminum, as an osmosis protection layer on GRP and for sealing wood. The primer dries quickly and allows fast build-up of layers due to the higher solids content. Applicable above and below the waterline. For first time application, it is recommended to paint four coats to achieve optimum water impermeability. Premium primer that combines the properties of a rust protection primer and an air-drying natural oil with high solids content and exceptional penetrating properties. Thanks to the formulation with OWATROL oil, OWATROL CIP has a low surface tension and is three times "wetter" than water. This allows it to optimally wet surfaces and penetrate even hard-to-reach corners that may not be mechanically derusted. It penetrates thick rust layers down to the "sound" metal and displaces moisture and air.The oil dries completely, even in thick layers given sufficient drying time. After drying, it remains elastic but is hard enough due to the added primer to be coated with a subsequent one- or two-component system such as an epoxy or chlorinated rubber primer. Suitable for all areas exposed to extreme climatic conditions, such as ballast tanks. Active ingredients: water-displacing penetrating oil and iron oxide.Technical DataSubstrate: Iron, steel, cast iron, stainless steel, light metals (bare or rusted)Surface preparation:Remove loose paint and rustFirm rust may remainSurface must be dry, grease-free and cleanFor chemically exposed surfaces: thorough cleaning with water or steamTopcoat: All one- or two-component systems including epoxy, polyurethane, chlorinated rubber etc.Coverage: up to 15 m²/l (depending on substrate and rust depth)Thinner: noneApplication method: Brush, lambskin roller, spray gun (professional use)Drying times at 20 °C: Touch dry after approx. 6 hrs; recoatable after 48 hrs.Further information on applying this product can be found in the technical data sheet under “Downloads”.Safety note: Cloths soaked with drying oils can self-ignite, therefore always spread out to dry before disposal or collect in sealed metal containers.
This very fast-drying universal epoxy primer is "one for all": an exceptionally robust and waterproof 2-component sealer for all boat building materials under and above water.PPG SIGMA PRIME 200 has excellent corrosion protection properties as well as high surface and temperature tolerance. It also adheres to hand-rusted and water-blasted surfaces, as well as to aluminium and hot-dip galvanized surfaces. For good corrosion protection, we recommend applying at least 4-5 coats by roller. Can be painted over with all maritime 1- and 2-component primers, paints and varnishes. An adhesion promoter (tiecoat) is required before painting with antifouling. SIGMA VIKOTE 18 is used for repairs and smaller ships. SIGMA COVER 555 (only available on request in 20 liter containers) is recommended for large-area coatings.Tip: VIKOTE 18 can be painted directly onto SIGMAPRIME 200 without sanding if the surface is not yet fully cured, i.e. "tacky". The LEFANT Epoxy Primer is specially designed for underwater use and can be applied to gelcoat, plastic, steel, aluminum, Z-drives and propellers. The two-component epoxy resin-based primer is suitable for the pre-treatment of antifoulings such as LEFANT T-Coat, it is oil and chemical resistant, protects the hull against the penetration of moisture and thus prevents osmosis. Thanks to the long overcoating intervals, it is easy to apply and cures even at low temperatures (min. 5 °C). Available in white or black.Application on painted substrates: Old one-component coatings and primers should be removed, two-component primers in good condition can be roughly sanded (grain size 60-80).
