Two-component epoxy primer for steel with excellent adhesion properties. PPG SIGMACOVER 280 is an aluminum-pigmented, polyamide-cured universal primer that adheres to steel, shop primers, galvanized steel, and non-ferrous metals.
Suitable as a sealer or adhesion primer, for use in ballast tanks, and for repair of weld seams and damage to epoxy coatings. Can be overcoated with most alkyd, chlorinated rubber, vinyl, and two-component epoxy and polyurethane coatings. Cures even at low temperatures (5 °C).
Application: The substrate must be dry, clean, and prepared according to the relevant specification (e.g., ISO-Sa2½, SSPC P-16). Application can be done by airless or conventional spraying, brush, or roller. THINNER 91-92 is used for thinning.
Technical Data
