This very fast-drying universal epoxy primer is "one for all": an exceptionally robust and waterproof 2-component sealer for all boat building materials under and above water.PPG SIGMA PRIME 200 has excellent corrosion protection properties as well as high surface and temperature tolerance. It also adheres to hand-rusted and water-blasted surfaces, as well as to aluminium and hot-dip galvanized surfaces. For good corrosion protection, we recommend applying at least 4-5 coats by roller. Can be painted over with all maritime 1- and 2-component primers, paints and varnishes. An adhesion promoter (tiecoat) is required before painting with antifouling. SIGMA VIKOTE 18 is used for repairs and smaller ships. SIGMA COVER 555 (only available on request in 20 liter containers) is recommended for large-area coatings.Tip: VIKOTE 18 can be painted directly onto SIGMAPRIME 200 without sanding if the surface is not yet fully cured, i.e. "tacky". Otherwise, intermediate sanding is necessary.Technical dataSubstrates: Steel, galvanized steel, store primer, coated metalsPre-treatment:Steel: blasting according to ISO-Sa2½ or machine cleaning (SPSS-Pt3), blasting profile 30-75 µmStore primer: leave intact or blast clean if damagedGalvanized steel: degrease, roughen with sandpaper or sweep blastingOld coatings: High-pressure cleaning, dry, clean, free of dust and greaseFollow-up coat: 2-component epoxy resins and polyurethanes (e.g. SIGMACOVER, SIGMADUR)Coverage: approx. 7.6 m²/l at 75 µm,Dilution: THINNER 91-92 (brush/roller: up to 5 %, spraying: 0-15 %)Application method: Brush, roller, airless or air sprayingMixing ratio: 4:1 (base:hardener by volume)Pot life: 7 hours at 20 °CDrying times at 20 °C: Dust-dry after 1.5 hours, touch-dry after 4 hours, fully hardened after 7 daysFurther processing information can be found in the technical data sheet under "Downloads".
A high quality thinner for brushing or rolling most one-component primers, paints and varnishes. High solving power providing easy thinning. The double destillation of this thinner provides maximum purity.
Solvent-based prep cleaner to clean and degrease raw steel and wood surfaces before painting. Not suitable for GRP surfaces. We recommend EPIFANES Polyester Degreaser for this.
EPIFANES EASY FLOW penetrating oil is a multi-purpose additive made of natural oils to improve the impregnating ability of one-component primers or undercoats. This product can be added to all conventional and semi-synthetic paints, even under difficult conditions, a favorable result is achieved. By adding 5-10% to the paint, visible brush strokes are avoided, thus creating a closed and smooth surface. Can also be used as an impregnating oil for wood and as a preservative oil for rusted steel surfaces freed from loose rust. This product can be reworked with conventional paints.
Epifanes Polyester Degreaser for cleaning all plastic surfaces. Removes wax and oily components on polyester and is therefore recommended for cleaning before the application of paint systems. During application, make sure that the cloth is always clean and, if necessary, turn or change it more often so that the dirt is really removed from the surface.
When applied in the interior, EPIFANES hardener can admixed to all half syntectic single component boat varnishes and coloured lacquer.By adding 5 - 7 % max. the curing time is shortened substantially, without the lacquers loosing their significant qualities.By adding of up to 50 % the lacquers are becoming much harder and abrasion-resistant, but loose their elasticity.
A slow evaporating thinner for brushing and rolling EPIFANES POLY-URETHANE Yacht coatings. Also suited as slow evaporating thinner for EPIFANES PP Varnish Extra.
Pure stand oil. When adding 2 % maximum it can prolong the initial drying period and the process time of all half syntectic single component boat varnishes and coloured lacquer.
Thinner for all Epifanes epoxybased products, like EPIFANES EPOXY PRIMER or EPIFANES INTERIMCOAT. Also suited for soften existing epoxy to allow better bonding for fresh layers.
LE TONKINOIS GELOMAT is a matting agent for combination with all LE TONKINOIS lacquers. It is added to the last coat of lacquer to achieve a satin to matt surface. Depending on the mixing ratio, different gloss levels such as matt, silk matt or silk gloss can be achieved.Application For a matt surface, mix LE TONKINOIS GELOMAT and lacquer in a ratio of 1:1. For silk matt results, use a ratio of 1:2, for silk glossy surfaces, use a ratio of 1:3. Ensure good ventilation during application. The drying time corresponds to that of the paint product used.Further information can be found in the technical data sheet under 'Downloads'.
LE TONKINOIS Thinner is a universally applicable thinner for all solvent-based LE TONKINOIS products, linseed oil varnish (Art.No. 2691-001), as well as for cleaning brushes and tools, degreasing surfaces, and removing resin or wax contaminants. Application: Always ensure good ventilation during use. LE TONKINOIS Thinner can be used both for targeted thinning during application and for cleaning purposes. Ingredients: IsoaliphaticsFurther information on application can be found in the technical data sheet under 'Downloads'.
Color additive for the underwater coating LeFANT T-COAT. Mix the color additive with the primer, then add the hardener and stir thoroughly. One paint pot is sufficient for a 750 ml can.
OWATROL MARINE STRIP (also sold under the name DILUNETT) is a highly effective, water-based paint and antifouling remover for outdoor use on boats and yachts. It removes up to eight coats of paint in a single operation - completely without solvents and without aggressive vapors. Thanks to its gel-like consistency, it also adheres to vertical surfaces such as hulls or mirrors, making it ideal for use on decks, hulls or superstructures.Enables the efficient removal of varnishes, oil-based paints, stains and antifoulings with little effort. MARINE STRIP is simply applied in a thick layer, works for several hours and can then be removed with water and a brush with synthetic bristles or a high-pressure cleaner. For the after-treatment of wooden surfaces, the combination with OWATROL DECK CLEANER is recommended to neutralize the wood and restore the natural color.Technical DataApplication area: Removal of one-component coatings, antifoulings, wood oils, stains, grey weatheringSubstrate: wood, GRP, gelcoat, metal, plastic – not suitable for aluminiumApplication: brush, spatulaCoverage: approx. 4 m²/lThinner: noneApplication temperature: +5 °C to +35 °C (avoid direct sunlight)Drying (20 °C): exposure time 5–60 min, rinse thoroughly, allow surface to dry at least 48 hrsFurther information on application can be found in the Technical Data Sheet under "Downloads".
Type A thinner can be used for many SEAJET products, such as antifoulings and the primer SEAJET Type 015. 5% thinner is usually sufficient as an additive for paint. Can also be used for cleaning painting tools.
