Zinc dust-containing (67%), surface-tolerant 2-component epoxy primer with high penetration properties, even on steel surfaces that have only been derusted by hand or water-blasted. The pigment-rich formulation results in a very well adhering and robust cathodic corrosion protection layer for use above and below water.
HANSAZINC ST tolerates residual moisture (no wetness) and slight flash rust formation. Can be painted over with two-component paints as well as with bitumen, vinyl and chlorinated rubber primers, but not with alkyd resin-based paints and paints containing zinc phosphate. Not suitable for use on galvanized, stainless, light or non-ferrous metals, wood, mineral substrates or plastics.
Application: The mixing ratio is 93:7 (base:hardener) by volume. The pot life is 3-4 hours. Depending on the substrate, the product can be applied by spraying, brushing or rolling. On hand-rusted surfaces, the coating must be worked in intensively; a bristle brush is best suited for this. Ideal processing and surface temperatures are between 15 °C and 25 °C and at least 5 °C above the dew point.
