A high-gloss, single-component yacht paint based on a non-yellowing, siliconized alkyd resin. The binder ensures long-lasting gloss retention, minimal dirt adhesion, and high color stability. EPIFANES NAUTIFORTE Yacht Paint is easy to apply and offers high coverage due to high-quality pigments. Suitable for new coatings on wood, steel, and aluminum in combination with a suitable primer, as well as for GRP surfaces. Also suitable for maintaining existing, intact 1- and 2-component coatings above the waterline, regardless of the manufacturer.
Application: The substrate must be clean, dry, free of grease, and sanded. Application is done with a roller, soft long-haired brush, or spray gun at temperatures from 8–30 °C and relative humidity between 50–85%. Do not apply wet-on-wet and avoid excessively thick wet coats to prevent runs and drying problems. Recommended primers for substrate preparation are EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No. 2066-175), for new aluminum EPIFANES WASHPRIMER AQ (Art.No. 2062-005). For a new coating, three coats are recommended, each with intermediate sanding (P400 or sanding fleece) by hand.

“Pure Gold in a tin” - EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL contains a very high proportion of metallic, pure gold dust pigments. This gold paint was developed on an acrylic copolymer basis for decorative stripes, ship names, and lettering on classic yachts, where traditionally gold leaf was laboriously applied. In contrast, EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL is easier to apply than gold leaf and allows the included gold dust to shine in its typical gloss and color tone. Application: The surface must be dry, well degreased, and sanded. On GRP, steel, wood, and zinc, an adhesion-promoting primer with EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No 2066-175) is recommended, which should be sanded with P180–P220 after drying. Stir well before use and stir occasionally during application to prevent the gold pigments from settling. Do not apply wet-on-wet and do not apply excessively thick wet coats. EPIFANES MULTIGUARD+ is a tar-free, semi-gloss black marine paint suitable for bare steel surfaces as well as for the maintenance of existing tar and bitumen coatings. The coating has excellent adhesion to steel as well as to pretreated tar and bitumen layers. The paint is colorfast and resistant to alternating influences of water and air. Application is by brush, roller, or spray gun. Application: Stir well prior to application. Make sure to apply the product only in well ventilated areas. The temperature should be above 8°C while applying and during drying times. The first coat is applied to bare steel or to roughened or softened tar layers thinned with 20–25% EPIFANES 1K Spray Thinner (Art. No. 2059-110) or white spirit and applied with a stiff bristle brush. Subsequent coats are applied with a short-haired lambskin roller. The substrate must be clean, grease-free, and dust-free.
