EPIFANES Yacht Enamel
Classic, high-gloss yacht varnish based on alkyd resin for applications above the waterline. EPIFANES YACHT ENAMEL is suitable for primed surfaces made of wood, steel, aluminum, and fiberglass for interior and exterior use and is resistant to salt and fresh water. It is known for its optimal flow properties, long-lasting gloss, and good weather resistance. Compatible with many existing 1-component and 2-component systems and can also be overcoated with EPIFANES MONO-URETHANE (Art.No. 2055-101) or EPIFANES NAUTIFORTE (Art.No. 2054-102).
Application The surface must be clean, dry, dust- and grease-free. Sand old coatings, remove loose or non-adhering layers. Application is done with brush, roller, or spray gun at temperatures above 8 °C and relative humidity below 85%. Do not apply wet-on-wet. For even gloss, intermediate sanding is required. The recommended wet film thickness is 70–80 µm, corresponding to 35–40 µm dry. As a primer, use EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No 2062-102), additionally WASHPRIMER AQ (Art.No 2062-005) for aluminum surfaces.

Powdered additive made from high-quality polypropylene beads for creating non-slip surfaces in combination with one- and two-component paints from EPIFANES (e.g., EPIFANES Mono-Urethane Art.Nr. 2055-175 or Poly-Urethane Paint Art.Nr. 2063-800). The grain size of approx. 130 µm ensures an even distribution in the coating. EPIFANES WATERLINE PAINT is a high-gloss, 1-component enamel based on urethane/alkyd resin, specially formulated for the waterline area. It is suitable for fresh and saltwater areas and offers increased protection against weathering to maintain gloss and color stability in the transition area between water and air. Applicable to GRP/gelcoat, steel, wood, and aluminum above the waterline. Application It is recommended to apply with a long-haired, soft brush, a mohair roller, or spray gun at temperatures between 10 °C and 28 °C and relative humidity between 50% and 75%. Before application, stir the can well. Do not work wet-on-wet. For a new build, at least two coats of EPIFANES WATERLINE PAINT are recommended. Between coats, sand lightly with P400. “Pure Gold in a tin” - EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL contains a very high proportion of metallic, pure gold dust pigments. This gold paint was developed on an acrylic copolymer basis for decorative stripes, ship names, and lettering on classic yachts, where traditionally gold leaf was laboriously applied. In contrast, EPIFANES GOLD SPECIAL is easier to apply than gold leaf and allows the included gold dust to shine in its typical gloss and color tone. Application: The surface must be dry, well degreased, and sanded. On GRP, steel, wood, and zinc, an adhesion-promoting primer with EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No 2066-175) is recommended, which should be sanded with P180–P220 after drying. Stir well before use and stir occasionally during application to prevent the gold pigments from settling. Do not apply wet-on-wet and do not apply excessively thick wet coats. Classic, high-gloss graphite paint based on alkyd and urethane resins, e.g. for the hatch coaming and numerous other applications for interior and exterior use above the waterline. The coating is suitable for steel surfaces above the waterline and creates a smooth, dark metallic glossy surface. Due to the smooth and non-porous surface, dirt does not stick to it and the paint is easy to clean.Application: The surface must be clean, dry, grease-free, and sanded. For steel, a primer with a suitable primer such as EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER is recommended. Stir well before use. Apply with brush, roller, or spray gun at temperatures from 10 °C. Thinning is possible with EPIFANES PAINT THINNER or white spirit. Intermediate sanding between coats is recommended.
