Classic, high-gloss yacht enamel based on alkyd resin for applications above the waterline. EPIFANES YACHT ENAMEL Black is suitable for primed surfaces made of wood, steel, aluminum, and GRP for both interior and exterior use, and is resistant to salt and fresh water. It is characterized by optimal flow properties, long-lasting gloss, and good weather resistance. Compatible with many existing 1-component and 2-component systems.
Application The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust and grease. Sand old coatings, remove loose or non-adherent layers. Application is done with a brush, roller, or spray gun at temperatures above 8 °C and relative humidity below 85 %. Do not apply wet-on-wet. For uniform gloss, intermediate sanding is required. The recommended wet film thickness is 70–80 µm, corresponding to 35–40 µm dry. As a primer, use EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER (Art.No. 2062-102), for aluminum surfaces additionally use WASHPRIMER AQ (Art.No. 2062-005).
