SIGMA VARNISH YACHT GLOSS (formerly known as SIGMARINE 42) is a high-gloss, solvent-based clear varnish based on wood oil, phenolic and alkyd resin. The varnish has been specially developed for high-quality wood surfaces outdoors and is particularly suitable for yachts and boats above the waterline. It is weatherproof, resistant to salt and fresh water, offers very good elasticity and excellent surface flow quality.
Application: Before painting, the wood must be clean, sanded and additionally degreased for oily woods. The maximum wood moisture content is 18%. For new coatings, an initial impregnation is recommended, followed by three coats of SIGMA VARNISH YACHT GLOSS. For renovation of existing coating structures, damaged areas are sanded down to bare wood, impregnated and rebuilt. Application is done with a brush, and can be thinned with a maximum of 2% SIGMA THINNER 20-05 if necessary.
