High-gloss, fast-drying polyurethane clear coat with an especially hard surface and very good weather and UV resistance. The amber-colored varnish enhances the natural wood grain and is suitable for all common types of wood in outdoor areas above the waterline. INTERNATIONAL COMPASS clear varnish is resistant to oil, mild acids, alkalis, and alcohol splashes and can also be applied directly to oily woods such as teak or iroko.
Application: The surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease. For raw wood, the first coat should be applied thinned, followed by 3–5 unthinned coats with sanding between every 2nd to 3rd coat (P320–400). For oily woods, pretreatment with INTERNATIONAL Thinner No. 1 (Art.No. 2550-006) is recommended. Application is done with a brush, roller, or spray device at temperatures between 5 °C and 35 °C.
