EPIFANES AQUA MARINE SATIN VARNISH is a water-based, satin-finish interior clear varnish based on polyurethane/acrylic resin. It is characterized by high scratch resistance, fast drying, and high resistance to alcohol and common household cleaners. Suitable for all types of wood in interior areas and results in a clear, even surface after drying. The product is VOC-reduced and low-odor, ideal for interiors with high demands on application and environmental compatibility.
Application: For bare wood, a multi-layer build-up with EPIFANES CLEAR BOAT VARNISH (Art. No. 2050-001) is recommended, which is then finished with two coats of EPIFANES AQUA MARINE SATIN VARNISH. Alternatively, the varnish can be applied directly to clean and sanded old coatings. Application is done with a brush or spray gun at temperatures above 8 °C and max. 85% relative humidity. An intermediate sanding with P220 is required between coats. Thinning with water up to a maximum of 15% is possible. Note: The varnish appears milky during application but dries clear.

Traditional oil varnish based on wood oil and alkyd resin for coating oily hardwoods such as teak and American softwoods. EPIFANES hardwood varnish oil serves as an alternative to pure oil systems and forms a grease and oil regulating clear varnish system in up to five coats.With a layer structure of less than five layers, the varnish oil still remains breathable. With more coats, the wood is completely sealed. Can be used for coating solid wood and plywood indoors and outdoors above the waterline, as well as for reworking existing one- and two-component lacquer systems.Application: Do not use the product below 8°C and avoid direct sunlight or strong wind. Apply the hardwood varnish oil with a brush. Do not apply wet on wet and avoid too thick layers to prevent drying problems, runs or craters. Intermediate sanding after the first coat after 24 hours by hand with a 280-320 grit paper, no intermediate sanding is necessary between subsequent coats as long as the drying times are observed. The product has good penetration and adhesion properties and offers long-term protection against UV radiation. Application Apply on a dry, dust- and grease-free surface using a brush, roller, or spray device at temperatures above 8 °C.
