WINDEX 15 Wind direction indicator with Birdspike L=380mm
The WINDEX 15 / 15 MK2 is used to precisely display the apparent wind direction on board and is designed for sailboats from 5-12 meters (14-40 feet) in length. The construction consists of a needle made of UV-resistant plastic with a smooth-running wind vane and two adjustable tabs for optimum trimming assistance. The included BirdSpike extends the Windex by 190 mm above the vane and prevents birds from perching on it.
The high-quality sapphire bearing ensures low-friction movement of the needle, even in light wind conditions. Thanks to the reflective tape on the underside of the wind vane and the small plates, the WINDEX 15 is easy to read during the day and at night. The wind indicator is mounted using the bracket supplied, which allows it to be attached to the top or side of the mast.
WINDEX wind vanes are characterized by their high-quality construction and can be used for several years if installed correctly. They have been tested in the wind tunnel at wind speeds of 40 m/s and are still among the leading international wind indicators in the cruising and regatta sector.
