RYLARD VG 61 DEFENDER is an oil-based wood primer for exterior use based on high-quality tung and linseed oils. The transparent drying primer impregnates the wood to make it water-repellent, enhances the grain, and provides preventive protection against rot and wood damage. It serves as a base coat on new wood or substrates sanded back to bare wood before coating with RYLARD varnishes. When applied in multiple coats, it forms a satin-matte, non-peeling protective film.
Application: Suitable for exterior wood, including teak, wooden floors, pool surrounds, as well as yachts and heavily weather-exposed areas. Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from dirt, dust, and sanding residues. Completely remove existing coatings. Sand bare wood with sandpaper (P 180–220). Stir well before use. Application temperature 10–35 °C. Apply at least 2 coats with a brush at intervals of 24 hours; intermediate sanding is not required. When applied outdoors, the coating must be completely dry before evening.
