Description

This thinner is suitable for adjusting the YACHTCARE antifouling primer and for cleaning the tools.
It should only be added to the antifouling primer if the primer is too viscous (e.g. at low temperatures).

Also suitable for YACHTCARE 1-component coatings such as varnishes, primers and paints. It is used to adjust the processing viscosity and is also suitable for cleaning tools after use.

Application: Only use with the YACHTCARE 1-component products intended for this purpose. Add in small quantities until the recommended viscosity is reached. Do not overdose in order not to impair drying and layer build-up. Also suitable for cleaning brushes, rollers and spraying equipment. Observe the safety and processing instructions on the container and safety data sheet.

YACHTCARE ANTIFOULING PRIMER
YACHTCARE Antifouling Primer is an elastic, one-component primer for underwater hull coating on GRP, metal and wood. The metal particles contained in the primer form a mesh of scales, which provides high-quality protection against penetrating moisture. It is also suitable as a barrier primer and adhesion promoter when changing antifouling. The antifouling primer serves as a base for all commercially available hard and self-polishing antifoulings, but not for antifoulings that contain metallic copper, such as PTFE thin-layer antifouling.Technical dataSubstrates: GRP, wood, steel, aluminum, existing commercially available antifoulingsPre-treatment: The substrate must be clean, dry and free of grease. All loose components or damaged old coatings must be removed beforehand. The substrate must be sanded.Application: Apply in dry weather and at temperatures between 0°C and +30°C. Do not apply in direct sunlight. Do not apply in direct sunlight. When reapplying the primer as a moisture barrier on the substrate, we recommend applying 4-5 coats. We recommend 1-2 coats as a barrier primer when replacing antifouling.Follow-up coat: all common antifoulings except thin-layer antifoulingsCoverage: approx. 10 m²/lDilution: Not recommendedApplication method: Brush, fur rollerDrying times at 20°C: Can be painted over with itself: after approx. 4-6 hours, can be painted over with antifouling: after approx. 6 hoursFurther information on application can be found in the technical data sheet under “Downloads”.
