SEAJET 034 EMPEROR A SPRAY is a self-polishing antifouling in spray form. It is suitable for underwater coating of smaller areas, touch-ups (spot repair), saildrives, outboard motors, as well as for hard-to-reach areas. The formulation contains no metallic copper and, with the appropriate primer, is also suitable for aluminum surfaces. Forms a smooth, self-polishing surface and provides effective protection against algae and shellfish growth. Slight color changes may occur upon contact with water.
Application: The surface must be clean, dry, free of grease, and sound. Existing antifouling in good condition can – after checking compatibility – be directly recoated. Unknown or incompatible old coatings must be isolated with SEAJET 015 UNDERWATER PRIMER (Art.No. 2559-015). If in poor condition, the old antifouling must be completely removed, and the substrate cleaned and degreased.
New build-up: Pre-coat GRP, steel, and aluminum with SEAJET 117 MULTIPURPOSE EPOXY PRIMER (Art.No. 2559-117), wood with SEAJET 015 UNDERWATER PRIMER (Art.No. 2559-015). Shake the spray can vigorously for at least 2 minutes before use. Application at 5–35 °C, substrate temperature 7–35 °C, max. 85 % relative humidity. Always ensure good ventilation during application, do not inhale vapors. Product is flammable.
Technical Data
- Area of application: Waters with medium to heavy fouling
- Boat type: Motorboats and sailboats up to 40kn
- Substrate: GRP, wood, steel, aluminum (with suitable primer)
- Primer: SEAJET 015 UNDERWATER PRIMER (Art.No. 2559-015), SEAJET 117 MULTIPURPOSE EPOXY PRIMER (Art.No. 2559-117)
- Coverage: approx. 10,0 m²/l (theoretical); corresponds to approx. 0,75–1,0 m² per 400 ml spray can depending on film thickness and substrate
- Application method: Spray can
- Drying times (at 20 °C): dust-dry after approx. 1 hr., dry after approx. 5 hrs.; recoatable after min. 5 hrs.
- Service life (time between application and launching): 24 hrs. up to max. 6 months
