The rescue net, manufactured in Germany, consists of 35-mm-wide webbing with a tensile strength of approximately 2,000 kg. Each individual seam has a strength of approximately 500 kg. Stainless steel tubes ensure good dimensional stability. Lead weights ensure rapid descent.
The net is stowed in a sturdy storage bag.
The two-meter-long net is secured, for example, to the railings’ bases using four webbing straps with slide loops.
The three- or four-meter-long net is secured on board using two 300-mm-long straps with snap shackles, for example, to two M8 eye bolts mounted 300 mm from the edge of the deck and spaced 1,000 mm apart.
A quick tug on the bag’s release tab causes the net to fall out and be immediately ready for use.
As a rescue climbing net, it allows a person in the water to climb back on board independently.
A person who is exhausted or suffering from hypothermia is guided into a pocket formed by the lifting net and then (using a block and tackle) carefully “rolled” upward along the side of the boat. This is done as gentlyas possible , while keeping the person in a horizontal position.
The storage bag is 120 cm long. Diameter: approx. 20 cm / 30 cm / 40 cm.
