On board of ships and sailing yachts, lines, ropes or tethers have to withstand most diverse stresses. The choice of suitable material and its strength is initially limited by requirements concerning factors such as breaking load or stretchability. Furthermore, there is the desired application, for example use as halyard, sheet or all-round rope. However, individual requirements based on experience and preferences also have a part to play. Thus, for example, whipped synthetic fibre ropes with a traditional, hemp-like appearance are often used on former sailing workboats and traditional ships - here, in addition to high functionality and authentic appearance, a long durability is particularly important. In contrast, on sporty sailing, classic or modern yachts, the choice is more likely to favour lean, supple polyester or Dyneema ropes with braided sheathing. Here the focus is on the fact that the material can be put optimally on a winch and lies well in the hand in general. Toplicht stocks ropes for every application - in large and small diameters, as a complete coil or by the metre. Sustainable Greenline yacht ropes, recycled from 100% PET bottles, have also recently been introduced to the product range. In addition, the range includes all types of tying material, as well as rigging and sliding yarns, i.e. everything needed for rigging and splicing and the nautical handling of ropes.
