SEAJET PELLERCLEAN is a biocide-free coating system for propellers, shafts, trim tabs, and drive components. The system consists of a 2-component epoxy primer and a silicone-based topcoat. The coating is suitable for fresh and salt water and reduces the adhesion of fouling, which can be easily removed by water movement or gentle cleaning.
Application: Completely remove old coatings, fouling, and contaminants, degrease and sand the substrate. Sand aluminum and stainless steel with P80–P120, bronze with P80 or P60–P80. Do not touch the surface again after final cleaning.
For the primer, stir the base well, add the hardener, and mix thoroughly for 3–5 minutes. First coat the edges of the propeller with the primer, then apply one complete coat and then apply a second coat. Wait approx. 15–30 minutes between primer coats.
Stir the Clear Coat thoroughly before use and apply two coats directly one after the other so that an even, continuous silicone layer is formed. For recoating PELLERCLEAN, clean the surface with fresh water and apply a new coat.
Important: Apply only on a dry substrate under suitable ambient conditions. Ensure adequate ventilation, avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapors or spray mist. Wear safety goggles, protective gloves, and respiratory protection. Due to the silicone content, carefully cover adjacent areas to avoid contamination. Use tools only for this product or dispose of them after use.
Note: The effectiveness of biocide-free underwater coatings depends on the cruising area as well as the boat's operating characteristics. Regular inspection of the hull during the season is recommended. Emerging fouling can be minimized by light cleaning with a sponge or a soft brush or a sponge.
Technical Data
- Area of use: suitable for waters with light to medium fouling pressure
- Substrate: aluminum, bronze, alloys, stainless steel, plastic; completely remove old antifouling coatings
- Coverage: 315 ml set approx. 0.7 m², 1.75 l set approx. 3.9 m². Primer theoretical 20.0 m²/l.
- Thinning: Primer with SEAJET THINNER E, 0–5% vol. Clear Coat with SEAJET THINNER A, 0–1% vol.
- Application method: brush, roller
- Drying times: Primer at 20 °C surface dry after approx. 1 hour, hard dry after approx. 6 hours. Recoating the primer with Clear Coat at 20 °C after at least 15 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes. Clear Coat at 20 °C surface dry after approx. 50 minutes, hard dry after approx. 8 hours. Allow to dry for at least 4–8 hours before water contact, ideally overnight at temperatures below 10 °C. Drying time of the Clear Coat approx. 8 hours at 15 °C
- Mixing ratio: Primer by volume base 79 : hardener 21, by weight base 85 : hardener 15.
- Pot life: Primer at 20 °C approx. 3 hours.
