Description

HANSASOL EP THINNER is a solvent-based thinner for 2-component coatings based on epoxy resin like HANSAZINC. The mixture of aromatics and alcohols is specially matched to epoxy resin coating materials and can also be used for cleaning suitable work equipment.

Processing instructions: Add the thinner only after mixing the base and hardener. Not suitable for 2-component coating materials based on polyurethane (PU, PUR, DD) as well as paints based on certain polymers such as PVC or acrylate. Not suitable for degreasing surfaces. Ensure good ventilation during processing, keep ignition sources away and wear suitable personal protective equipment.

Technical data

Penetrating epoxy zink coating HANSAZINC ST
Zinc dust-containing (67%), surface-tolerant epoxy resin primer with high penetration properties, even on steel surfaces that have only been derusted by hand or water-blasted. The pigment-rich formulation results in a very well adhering and robust cathodic corrosion protection layer for use above and below water.HANSAZINC ST tolerates residual moisture (no wetness) and slight flash rust formation. Can be painted over with common two-component paints as well as with bitumen, vinyl and chlorinated rubber primers, but not with alkyd resin-based paints and paints containing zinc phosphate. Not suitable for use on galvanized, stainless, light or non-ferrous metals, wood, mineral substrates or plastics.Application: This product is only applied as a first coat, further coating is carried out with epoxy resin primers or paints depending on the area of application (see data sheet). Stir base and hardener well and mix according to manufacturer's instructions. For spray application on freshly blasted surfaces, the mixture should be diluted to the viscosity specified in the data sheet if necessary; this is not necessary for manual application. On manually derusted surfaces or surfaces with flash rust, the product must be worked in intensively with a brush. Under ideal processing conditions (23°C, 50% humidity), HANSAZINC ST can be recoated within 4 hours to 14 days without intermediate sanding, after which the surface should be lightly sanded to ensure adhesion for the subsequent coat.Technical dataArea of application: two-component epoxy resin corrosion protection primerSubstrates: Steel, sheet steel, gray cast ironPre-treatment:Blasting Sa 2½Pressure water blasting DW 3Manual rust removal St 2Follow-up coats (observe system structure):2-component epoxy primer HANSAPOX Barrier (Art.
