DANIAMANT ODEO FLARE Red LED hand flare
The ODEO FLARES are a modern alternative to the traditional pyrotechnic red hand flare thanks to their all-round visible, circumferentially arranged power LEDs.It is similar in size to the traditional marine emergency flare, but uses battery-powered LEDs instead of burning hazardous substances. The ODEO FLARE MK3 "burns" with one set of batteries for up to 6 hours at full radiation. The ODEO DISTRESS FLARE even emits its light for up to 9 hours. The visibility range of the red light is three to six nautical miles. After the specified time, the batteries need to be replaced. The batteries supplied have a "shelf life" of seven years. Nevertheless, the manufacturer recommends checking the batteries annually and changing them if necessary. As no pyrotechnics are used, the ODEO FLARE is absolutely safe when switched off. Powered solely by batteries, it can be sent safely by post or carried in checked baggage on flights.Originally designed for maritime use, the LED hand torch can be used for any outdoor activity and is easy to operate: Sailing, hiking, mountaineering, skiing, kiting, expeditions, ...The ODEO FLARE was developed with SOLAS requirements in mind, making it a real alternative to the pyrotechnic red hand flare. The US Coast Guard is working on the development of standards for electronic visual distress signals (eVDS) as a replacement for pyrotechnic hand flares. The ODEO FLARE also emits an SOS signal during its flash pattern, as described in Annex 4 of the COLREGS (KVR), and is therefore an internationally recognized distress signal.FeaturesODEO FLARE MK3Dimensions (D x L): 51 x 250 mmWeight: 205 gIncludes 3 lithium batteries type AA, which can be easily replacedmade of salt water-resistant plasticfloatable, waterproof according to IP 68 (up to 50 meters water depth)ODEO DISTRESS FLARE Dimensions (D x L): 63 x 122 mmWeight: 150 gIncludes 4 lithium batteries type AA, which can be easily replacedadditional infrared LEDsmade of salt water-resistant plasticfloatable, waterproof according to IP 68 (up to 50 meters water depth)
