Description

The WEATHERDOCK antenna provides raw GPS data.

The antenna dome is connected via a six-meter-long cable (extendable up to 15 meters with RG213/U cable) with a TNC connector to a Class B AIS transceiver or transponder (e.g., easyTRX3).

These devices require raw GPS data accurate to within 1/1000 of a second. An active antenna, for example when connected to a chartplotter, transmits data via NMEA that is only accurate to within a maximum of 1/10 of a second.
