Description

Deep-penetrating wood protection oil for pre-treatment of raw wood. RYLARD IMPREGNANTE serves both as a natural final treatment with an open-pored appearance and as a primer for further coatings with RYLARD varnishes. The product effectively protects the wood from natural damage such as fungi, mold, or insect infestation and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Application: The surface should be clean, dry, and free of dust; old varnish layers must be removed beforehand. Two coats are required, at intervals of at least 12 hours. Application is done with a brush or spray gun. After the final coat, the desired topcoat can be applied after another 12 hours. Also suitable for wooden surfaces that have been stripped by sanding or hot air.

The Italian ship and yacht paint manufacturer BRAVA from Genoa offers with its RYLARD brand a range of traditional yacht varnishes, whose original formula was developed for the emerging yachting sport in the 19th century and is referred to on many classic yachts as the “Yachtman's Mirror.”

RYLARD VG63 Traditional Clear Varnish
A traditional clear varnish that is very elastic, penetrating and does not flake. Traditionally produced by gentle boiling of linseed and tung oil. In contrast to synthetic resin varnishes, RYLARD VG63 dries very slowly, which gives it the elasticity and durability required for solid wood boats. The varnish is particularly suitable for use on wood in the boating sector or in other heavily used environments.Application: On dry, clean wood, first apply two coats of RYLARD IMPREGNANTE (Art. No. 6080-701) to saturate the wood; alternatively, VG 63 diluted with turpentine substitute (mixing ratio 1:1) is also suitable.Depending on the absorbency of the wood, then apply five to six coats of VG 63 - each coat thinly and 24 hours apart. The first coat should be thinned to 30-40%, then gradually reduce the thinning. Apply the last two coats undiluted. Intermediate sanding with fine sandpaper is recommended. For painted surfaces in good condition, the surface should be thoroughly sanded, cleaned and degreased before applying two coats of VG 63. Do not apply in damp weather, below 15 °C or on wet wood.RYLARD varnishesWith its RYLARD brand, the Italian ship and yacht paint manufacturer BRAVA from Genoa offers a range of traditional yacht paints whose original formulation was developed for the early days of yachting in the 19th century and is known as "Yachtman's Mirror" on many classic yachts.Technical dataArea of application: Clear lacquer for wooden surfaces in the maritime sector and demanding environmentsSubstrate: Clean, dry, untreated or stripped woodPrimer: RYLARD IMPREGNANTE (optional)Coverage: 20 m²/lDilution: Turpentine substituteApplication method: Brushing or sprayingDrying times (at 20 °C): Dust-dry after 12 h, recoatable after 24 hFurther information on application can be found in the technical data sheet under 'Downloads'.
