The LEFANT Epoxy Primer is specially designed for underwater use and can be applied to gelcoat, plastic, steel, aluminum, Z-drives and propellers. The two-component epoxy resin-based primer is suitable for the pre-treatment of antifoulings such as LEFANT T-Coat, it is oil and chemical resistant, protects the hull against the penetration of moisture and thus prevents osmosis. Thanks to the long overcoating intervals, it is easy to apply and cures even at low temperatures (min. 5 °C). Available in white or black.Application on painted substrates: Old one-component coatings and primers should be removed, two-component primers in good condition can be roughly sanded (grain size 60-80). Then clean thoroughly. If necessary, level out uneven areas with epoxy filler. When recoating steel hulls, the surface should be sandblasted or roughly sanded and painted with a thinned coat of epoxy primer (20-30% thinned with Lefant Multi-Thinner) immediately after sanding. Then apply up to three further coats and level out any unevenness and imperfections with filler.Technical DataSubstrate: GRP, steel, aluminium, plywood, existing 2C epoxy primersSurface preparation:GRP: remove release agents, sand (grit 80), degreaseSteel/aluminium: sandblast or sand (grit 40/80), degreaseWood: sand (grit 80), cleanExisting primer: sand (grit 80), cleanFollow-up coat: LEFANT antifoulingsCoverage: approx. 8 m²/l at 50 µm, 2 m²/l at 200 µm, 1.33 m²/l at 300 µmThinner: LEFANT Multi Thinner 3087 (only for first coat on metal or spray application)Application method: Short mohair roller, spray (professional use)Mixing ratio: 4:1 (Base:Hardener by volume)Pot life: 8 hrs at 20 °CDrying times at 18 °C: Recoatable after 12 hrs, antifouling after 3–5 days (depending on temperature/system), fully durable after 7 daysFurther information on processing can be found in the technical data sheet under “Downloads”.
Unfortunately, this item is no longer available.LeFANT T-COAT is a biocide-free coating for underwater hulls based on epoxy resin. It forms a hard, smooth surface that makes it difficult for growth such as algae to adhere and also protects the hull from moisture penetration. LeFANT T-COAT is free of silicones and metals and is suitable for all waters. If fouling adheres to the surface, it can be easily removed mechanically using cleaning sponges, brushes or hull cleaning systems.Technical dataArea of application: Waters with light to medium foulingBoat type: fast motor and sailing boats, trailer boatsMaterials (with primer): GRP/plastic, steel, aluminumCoverage: 4-6m²/lDilution: NonePre-treatment: Existing antifouling and one-component paints must be completely removed. Existing epoxy systems in good condition can be retained. For better adhesion and sealing of porous, sandblasted or rough surfaces and for recoating, an epoxy-based primer, such as LEFANT Epoxy Primer, is recommended (first coat diluted with 20-30% LEFANT Multi-Thinner).Application method: Brush or rollerApplication temperature: Minimum 7 °C, an ideal application temperature is 15-25 °C. To improve conditions for application at lower temperatures, use for example a heating element that can be placed close to the surface and then place the paint can in a bath of heated water.Application: Mix the primer with the desired color additive, add hardener and stir thoroughly. One paint pot contains 55 ml of paint and is sufficient for a 750 ml can. 2-3 coats (approx. 100 microns/coat) are recommended for a new structure, 3-4 coats for the color white. For a particularly smooth “racing surface”, the hardened surface can be sanded smooth with wet sandpaper. Further information on processing can be found in the technical data sheet under “Downloads”
Aromatic-free brush thinner with high dilution power for most single-component primers, paints, and varnishes; very pure due to double distillation.Application: only stir the paint thinner into the varnish or paint in small amounts if necessary and mix thoroughly. Do not dilute more than necessary; excessive addition can cause runs and reduce the dry film thickness. Use only the thinners recommended by the manufacturer. Read the label/product information or safety data sheet before use.Technical DataApplication area: Dilution of 1K primers, paints, and varnishes; designed for brush/roller applicationApplication method: Add to the respective 1K coating, designed for brush/roller processing
Solvent-based cleaner for cleaning tools and equipment after using Epifanes 1-component varnishes, primers, and paints. Reliably removes fresh varnish and paint residues.Application: Rinse brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with Epifanes cleaning thinner immediately after use. Use only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas. Do not use for thinning varnishes. Observe safety instructions on the container and in the safety data sheet.Important: Not suitable for GRP surfaces; for this purpose, EPIFANES Polyester Degreaser (Art.No. 2059-401) is recommended.Technical DataArea of application: Cleaning of work equipment after processing Epifanes 1-C productsApplication method: Dip or rinse tools in thinner
Penetrating oil based on natural oils, which is used as an additive to improve the flow properties of conventional and semi-synthetic paints. It reduces visible brush strokes, impregnates wood and has a rust-inhibiting effect on steel by penetrating deep into the substrate. This means that a favorable result can be achieved even under difficult conditions.
Epifanes Polyester Degreaser for cleaning all plastic surfaces. Removes wax and oily components on polyester and is therefore recommended for cleaning before the application of paint systems. During application, make sure that the cloth is always clean and, if necessary, turn or change it more often so that the dirt is really removed from the surface.
The EPIFANES hardener is suitable for all semi-synthetic single-component varnishes and paints from EPIFANES. Especially in interior areas (e.g. on furniture, work surfaces), where an abrasion-resistant coating system is desired, the hardener can be mixed into the varnish.By adding a maximum of 5 - 7%, the curing time of the varnishes is already significantly reduced without the varnishes losing their essential qualities. By adding up to 50% of the hardener, the varnishes become significantly harder and more abrasion-resistant, but also lose their elasticity.
Special thinner for Epifanes 2-component polyurethane paints. Developed for use at higher ambient temperatures to delay drying speed and ensure even flow of the coating.Application: Use only for Epifanes 2-C-PU products. Add to the paint in small amounts to achieve the desired viscosity. Especially suitable for high temperatures or large-area coatings. Observe safety and handling instructions on the container and safety data sheet.Technical DataApplication area: Thinning Epifanes 2-C polyurethane paints at high temperaturesApplication method: Add to the paint mixture in the dosage recommended by the manufacturer

Developed to achieve the correct spray viscosity.Application: Use only for spray application of Epifanes 1-C products. Add thinner in small amounts until the recommended spray viscosity is achieved. Do not overdose, as this can negatively affect drying and film thickness. Observe the safety and processing instructions on the product packaging.Technical DataApplication area: Thinner for spray application of Epifanes 1-C varnishes, primers, and paintsApplication method: Add to Epifanes 1-C products to adjust spray viscosity
