Exhaust temperature alarm display for engines with cooling water injection into the exhaust gas. Gives a visual and audible alarm if the temperature of the exhaust gas/water mixture in the exhaust hose becomes too high (over 75 °C). Otherwise, if there are problems with the engine cooling system, the hot exhaust gases from the engine can melt hoses, water collectors or silencers before the engine overheating alarm is triggered.Ideally, the indicator is installed in combination with the exhaust gas temperature sensor from VETUS, which is not included in the scope of delivery. The indicator is available in a 12 and 24 volt version and comes with two plastic covers, one black and one silver.

The upper and lower sections can be rotated through 360 degrees, making installation and connection of the exhaust hoses much easier. The NLPG has significantly improved silencing and lower back pressure in the exhaust system than the WLOCKLT system, also from Vetus. The gooseneck prevents water from flowing back into the exhaust in rough seas and the silencer also creates water turbulence inside, which leads to a significant reduction in noise.Various hose connection diameters from 40 to 90 mm available. VETUS Abgas-Sensor für den Kühlwasserschlauch
VETUS hose sensor exhaust temperature alarm
The sensor with bi-metal thermal switch is screwed into a small hole in the cooling water hose directly behind the exhaust manifold and warns of a lack of cooling water before the engine heats up too much. The sensor is wired to a free slot on the engine control panel or a separate VETUS alarm indicator (see accessories). At 71 °C, the sensor reacts and closes the circuit; a warning light and acoustic alarm are triggered on the panel or the external control. This allows the crew to switch off the engine before the exhaust gases, which are over 300 degrees hot, melt hoses, water collectors or silencers. Suitable for 12 and 24 V on-board power supplies.
