On a ship, many things need to be locked and enclosed to protect against unauthorised access. On most ships, toilet doors or companionway are probably equipped with a locking mechanism. On traditional ships or larger yachts, there are a lot of cabin doors, sliding doors, cabinet doors, flaps and drawers, that are sometimes not accessible to everyone. For this reason, these doors have to be fitted with door locks or furniture locks. In our assortment, we differentiate between delicate yacht locks (small locks), yacht locks (medium locks) and heavy ship locks (heavy locks). When installing these fittings, please note that doors should always be faced in the direction they are swung, i.e. from the side where hinges are visible. If you see the hinges on the right, it is a right-hand door. A mortise lock is installed in the door leaf. In contrast, a rim lock is screwed onto the inside of the door. In addition to door latches, furniture latches and key cylinders, we stock classic and stylish door plates and door handles.
