Safe harbour or a sheltered anchorage - in order to really sleep well, a ship's equipment has to be reliable in extreme weather and sea conditions. A good anchor gear, anchor capstan, bollards, cleats, elastic mooring lines and fenders must absolutely withstand and should always be suitable for the size and type of ship or yacht. Appropriate pad eyes and fairleads should help to prevent any possible chafing of the hawsers. In our equipment recommendation based on the regulations of Germanischer Lloyd's GL you can read about the optimal strength and length of anchor chain, chain leader, towing and mooring lines for your ship. You can also find out the appropriate anchor weight. The recommended weight for bow and stern anchors depends on their construction. At Toplicht you will find the classic weight anchors, such as the tried and tested stock anchor, but also modern anchor constructions in the category of "high holding power" (HHP) anchors, which include bow and ploughshare anchors. We offer mechanical and electrical windlasses for retrieving the galvanised or stainless steel chains of different link widths. Of course, you will also find anchor lines of high strength.
