Description
The IKAROS MOB MKIV light and smoke signal for “man overboard” emergencies is designed for vertical mounting on the bridge. Ideally, one MOB signal (with the bracket included in the scope of delivery) should be mounted on both the port and starboard sides, each connected to a lifebuoy or rescue buoy. If the lifebuoy or rescue buoy is thrown overboard, the light/smoke signal is pulled along with it.
If the mounting height is less than five meters above the water, it is recommended to stow the MOB signal inside the vessel and throw it into the water individually as needed.
As soon as the signal is released from the mount, it automatically begins emitting light and smoke to mark the position of the person in the water.
The MOB light and smoke signal is powered by a lithium battery and can be used as a day and night marker. It is approved worldwide (see certificates under “Downloads”) and complies with the latest SOLAS regulations.
