Extremely low maintenance, oiled shipblocks made from locust wood. This is one of the hardest and rot-resistant types of wood growing in Europe and is considered a very good alternative to the tropical woods teak or iroko.
The blocks have tumbled stainless steel fittings (AISI316), as well as low-maintenance and low-friction sheaves made from black DELRIN. The ends of the stainless steel axle are covered and secured with a small bronze plate.
The copper riveted housings are dipped in Tung oil. With the result, that these robust and long life blocks suffice without additional maintenance. Only for optical reasons they can be oiled again after some time.

They can also be varnished with single component marine varnishes without any problems.
