Powdered additive made from high-quality polypropylene beads for creating non-slip surfaces in combination with one- and two-component paints from EPIFANES (e.g., EPIFANES Mono-Urethane Art.Nr. 2055-175 or Poly-Urethane Paint Art.Nr. 2063-800). The grain size of approx. 130 µm ensures an even distribution in the coating. The white powder takes on the color of the paint used after stirring in.Application: The anti-slip additive is stirred into the paint and then left to rest for 10-15 minutes. One can of 20 g anti-slip additive is sufficient for 750 ml of paint. During application, the paint should be stirred regularly to ensure an even distribution of the additive. Application is best done with a short-pile velour roller or a paint roller. The treated surface should then dry for at least 72 hours before being subjected to load.Technical DataApplication area: Additive for creating non-slip paint surfaces Compatible with: all common 1K and 2K paints (clear and colored paints)Coverage: 20 g per 750 ml of paintGranule size: 130 µmApplication method: short-pile velour roller, paint smoothing rollerDrying times (at 20 °C): min. 72 hrs before initial load
Transparent glass powder for full or partial scattering on COELAN coating systems to increase slip resistance. The product is suitable for all areas where increased slip resistance is required on coated surfaces. It is applied in combination with a fresh adhesive layer and is compatible with transparent and pigmented COELAN systems as well as all common 1- and 2-component coatings.Application: The product is sprinkled into the still tacky coating surface after painting
Single-component, semi-gloss deck paint based on urethane/alkyd resin. EPIFANES Non-Skid Deckcoating contains tiny polypropylene beads that form a non-slip surface after drying. Suitable as a non-skid topcoat on single-component paint systems on wood, steel, aluminum, or gelcoat/GRP.Application: Stir the paint thoroughly before and during use to ensure the beads are evenly distributed in the coating. Apply two coats with a short-haired velour roller without wet-on-wet application. Allow at least three days to dry before the first use. Color chart note: The displayed colors correspond as closely as possible to the original shades, but deviations cannot be ruled out for technical reasons. The color numbers of the non-skid deck paint are comparable to the color codes of EPIFANES MONO-URETHANE or EPIFANES Yacht Enamel, but color deviations may also occur due to the separate manufacturing process of the products.Technical DataApplication area: Non-slip deck coating for GRP, wood, steel, and aluminumSubstrate: existing single-component systems or after priming with EPIFANES coating build-upCompatible with: 1K paint systems, e.g. EPIFANES MONO-URETHANE (e.g. Art. No. 2055-175)Coverage: approx. 4–8 m²/l at 50 µm dry film thicknessThinner: EPIFANES Paint Thinner (Art. No. 2059-001) or EPIFANES 1-K Spray Thinner (Art. No. 2059-110)Application method: short-nap velour rollerDrying times (at 15 °C): dust-dry: 2 hrs, recoatable: 36 hrs, loadable: after at least 3 daysFurther information on application can be found in the Technical Data Sheet under 'Downloads'.
Acrylic-based anti-slip coating from New Zealand: KIWI GRIP is excellently suited for creating slip-resistant and non-skid surfaces. The product is water-dilutable, single-component, and still resistant to environmental influences such as saltwater and UV radiation. The coating is available in four colors and comes in a resealable plastic pouch that allows for economical application. The color can also be tinted with water-based color pastes. Application: Application should not be carried out in direct sunlight and high temperatures above 30°C to prevent unevenly fast drying. On non-absorbent substrates such as steel and fiberglass, a suitable primer is recommended. KIWI GRIP has a thick, yogurt-like consistency when undiluted, which, in combination with the texture roller, creates a coarse surface. By diluting the paint with water (up to 10%) or using, for example, fur rollers, the intensity and texture of the product can be individually adjusted. Before application, tape off the surface to be painted to create a clean edge. KIWI GRIP can be applied with a toothed spatula. Then work over with the included texture roller to create the rough surface. Remove the tape while the paint is still wet. The paint dries within a few hours but is only fully loadable after complete curing. Clean tools with water. The product is delivered in a practical plastic pouch including texture roller and application instructions. Technical DataApplication area: Non-skid acrylic-based deck coatingSubstrate: Fiberglass, wood, aluminum, and steel, clean, dry, grease-freePrimer: recommended for non-absorbent substrates (e.g. epoxy primer or EPIFANES MULTI MARINE PRIMER Art.No. 2066-175)Coverage: approx. 2 m²/l (undiluted)Thinning: Water (max. 10%)Application method: Texture roller or short-pile rollerDrying times (at 20 °C): dry after approx. 1 hr, re-coatable after approx. 4–6 hrs, fully loadable after approx. 2–3 daysFurther information on application can be found in the user brochure under 'Downloads'.
The self-adhesive DECKSTRIP anti-slip strips from PSP Marine offer good grip on decks, stairs, jetties, and other smooth surfaces even when wet, thanks to their textured surface. The strips are made from a polymer-coated, textured backing material. The back is coated with a strongly adhesive acrylic glue, allowing for easy installation without additional tools or adhesives. The adhesive strips are UV-resistant, waterproof, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The DECK STRIP is available in black or white and is suitable for GRP, wood, aluminum, or steel. Each package contains two sheets, each with five pre-cut strips with rounded corners.Application: The surface must be clean, dry, smooth, and free of grease. The strips are pre-cut but can be individually trimmed with scissors or a knife. After removing the protective film, the strip is pressed down evenly. Final adhesion is achieved after 24 hours. The strip can be removed without leaving any residue. Technical DataApplication area: Slip resistance on smooth surfaces indoors and outdoorsSurface: GRP, wood, metal; smooth, dry, grease-freePrimer: not requiredCoverage: 10 strips per packageInstallation: self-adhesive, can be applied by handDrying times: tack-free immediately, final strength after approx. 24 hrs
The Antislip Additive from PPG SIGMA is a finely ground natural granulate made from coconut shells for producing slip-resistant coatings for decks and walkways. The powder consists of coconut shell fibers and is compatible with all top coat from PPG SIGMA and other manufacturers. It is especially suitable for applications where increased slip resistance is required.Application: The powder can be stirred directly into the topcoat and applied with a short-pile roller. Alternatively, it can be sprinkled onto the fresh paint layer – ideally using a fine sieve. The exact dosage depends on the desired slip resistance and the amount of paint used.Technical DataApplication area: Production of slip-resistant deck paintsSubstrate: depends on the paint system usedCoverage: approx. 50 g per liter of paintApplication method: Mixing into the paint or sprinkling onto the fresh coatingGranule size: irregular, fibers up to approx. 3 mm in lengthFor more information on application, refer to the product packaging or contact the manufacturer.
A silk-matt, one-component polyurethane resin-based coating that can be used as an anti-slip top coat indoors and outdoors. The coating has a double anti-slip effect due to the granules it contains and the rough texture when it dries. OWAGRIP was specially developed for the extreme weather conditions in the maritime sector, is abrasion-resistant, UV-resistant and anti-corrosive. Can be applied to existing polyurethane, epoxy, alkyd and acrylic-based paint systems.Application: Clean the substrate well before painting, sand the surface if necessary and repair any damage accordingly. For recoating untreated wooden surfaces or slightly rusting metal surfaces, 5-10% Owatrol oil can be added for the first coat. Stir well before use.
