SEASURE Tiller Lock
SEASURE Tiller Lock
The SEASURE Tiller Lock is a simple, easy-to-use system for infinitely adjustable tiller locking in the desired position. This updated version maintains the proven ruggedness of its predecessor (Midshipman II), is suitable for any tiller-steered boat, and particularly useful for single-handed sailing. An integrated snubber ensures better course holding than traditional tiller lashings.
The unit is mounted directly beneath the tiller. It consists of a sheave and a lever cam with a toothed slider, both housed in a compact Aluminium body. A rope runs across the aft deck through the sheave with a means of keeping it under tension When the jaw engages the line, tiller movement in both directions is blocked. Releasing the cam frees the line, allowing manual tiller control.
When not in use or in an emergency, the line can be quickly snapped out of the block with a downward pull, completely disengaging the tiller. The unit is installed using two screws through the housing. Supplied ready for installation with 2 m control line (Ø 9 mm) and snubber cord.
