Traditional flag for dutch flat-bottom boats (blue)
The vleugel (flögel), the traditional wind flag, must not be missing on any Dutch flatboat. In the Netherlands the following applies:
- blue vleugel = "Beroepsvaart" (professional navigation),
- red vleugel = "Pleziervaart" (pleasure boating).
The cloth of the vleugel is made of spun polyester, it has the feel of cotton, is durable, uv-resistant, weatherproof and rot-proof.
To keep the long wind flag free of blocks and halyards, the vleugel is sewn to a wooden burgee holder. The wooden burgee holder is not included in the scope of delivery (see similar products).
