Description

A system for electrical installation, proven over decades in shipbuilding and shipping. HNA stands for "Handelsschiff-Normen-Ausschuss" - a traditional norms arrangement that is continued today in DIN.

The plug casing is made from heavy plastic and equipped with watertight cord entry, type W14 for unshielded cable. (If desired, the system can be delivered with type Z entries, for shielded cable.)
Through its "inner workings," high-quality and long-lived ceramic electrical components are used.
Protection class of the units: IP56.

The units correspond to the rules of the classification societies, and many are certified by Germanisher Lloyd.

In addition to the articles listed here, other elements and spare parts are also available.

Cable entry for HNA-light
For HNA cable entries with a M24 x 1.5 thread are threaded bushes and internal parts for screened or unscreened cables available. The abbreviation HNA stands for "Handelsschiff-Normen-Ausschuss" (merchant ship standard attachment). Because many lights and electrical fittings must adhere to specific standards in the shipping industry, the term HNA is now a synonym for heavy, solid, high-quality electrical fittings, which as a rule are made of brass and thus fulfil the exceptionally high demands for safe use and corrosion resistance. The brass items are mostly built using sand casting and are not polished, but rather they are left with their undressed surfaces. The cord entry is pursuant to DIN 89280, is watertight, and is intended for use with a shielded cable. The sockets and switch insets are made of brass and porcelain and not, as is common today, of plastic. HNA lights and electrical fittings are therefore long lived products that, with their maritime, technical aspects, are useful not only aboard ships, but also in homes and offices.
