Because many lights and electrical fittings must adhere to specific standards in the shipping industry, the term HNA is now a synonym for heavy, solid, high-quality electrical fittings, which as a rule are made of brass and thus fulfil the exceptionally high demands for safe use and corrosion resistance. The brass items are mostly built using sand casting and are not polished, but rather they are left with their undressed surfaces.
